Mission of Program:
The mission of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Flushing Hospital Medical Center is to educate residents in a culturally and socioeconomically diverse and caring environment for independent clinical practice or further training. Residents are held to high standards which align with the hospital’s mission to provide superior service to our patients and our community in a caring environment.
Aims of Program:
The Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Flushing Hospital Medical Center aims to provide a comprehensive educational program in a multicultural and socioeconomically diverse environment preparing residents for independent clinical practice and/or further fellowship training. Residents will develop strong clinical skills by means of progressive responsibility under supervision leading to autonomy in patient care as well as for success in achieving certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition, residents will be inspired to develop quality improvement initiatives to not only benefit the program but also the community and hospital system.
