Welcome to Flushing Hospital’s Dental residency Program

Overview

Flushing Hospital offers a comprehensive and very active one-year general residency program in dentistry. The program, which is fully accredited by the American Dental Association, provides clinical, educational, and hospital experience at a postdoctoral level and prepares graduates to manage the oral health needs of all child, adult, and senior patients.

Residents participate in several hours of lectures, seminars, grand rounds, and external teaching conferences and benefit from the various services and programs offered by Flushing Hospital’s Dental Department.

Dental residents will provide all aspects of dental care. Residents can expect to perform oral surgical procedures, periodontal surgery, implant placement, and second molar endodontics. All of this will take place in our state-of-the-art dental center, a 3,550-square-foot facility that features eight examination rooms, one imaging room, one laboratory, and one sterilization room. The dental center also features a wide range of cutting-edge equipment, including a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) machine with 3D imaging, fiber-optic handpieces in all operatories, and dental delivery units with monitors for patients to see their radiographs and better understand their treatment plan.
