Pediatric Inpatient Care

Using skill, compassion and advanced technology, the Department of Pediatrics provides care for acute and chronic illnesses to infants, children and young adults.

Offering a comprehensive range of services, the department is fully staffed by pediatricians specializing in primary care, adolescent medicine and a broad range of pediatric subspecialties.

Pediatrics

Flushing Hospital operates a dedicated, 28 - bed pediastric unit on the fourth floor of the main building. All patient rooms on the pediatric floor are outfitted to ensure the comfort and safety of both our patients and parents. The floor has a fully equipped playroom including a library and a computer, and an audiovisual room stocked with the most current selection of media. Our certified Child Life Specialists help children cope with illness, trauma and stress. The department's multi-ethnic, multi-lingual staff enhances their ability to communicate with and serve its youngest patients.

Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center

Flushing Hospital operates a Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center on the ground floor of the Medical Science Building. The center is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 7:00pm. To make an appointment, please call 718-670-5486.

Pediatric Developmental and Behavioral Services

Flushing Hospital offers evaluations for pediatric patients with academic, developmental, behavioral and social concerns.

The TJH Developmental and Behavioral Pediatric program is staffed by Board Certified Developmental and Behavioral pediatricians devoted to helping children and adolescents reach their full potential. Common diagnoses identified and managed include; autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability disorder, learning disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), developmental language disorder and cerebral palsy. Common issues such as sleep, feeding and discipline concerns, bed wetting (enuresis) and soiling (encopresis) are also managed at the center.

All services are provided using a family focused approach and most insurances are accepted.
