The FHMC Department of Pharmacy is open seven days per week to deliver quality inpatient care. The staff of registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provides a wide array of pharmaceutical services including procurement, preparation, and dispensing of medications and provision of essential drug information. To optimize the patient safety, medications are dispensed in a unit dose system.
As part of the multidisciplinary team, we assess, plan and monitor drug regimens, as we interact and work together with other health care professionals to promote safe medication practices.
In addition, with our clinical expertise, the Department of Pharmacy also provides the following services:
- Chemotherapy and total parenteral nutrition services;
- IV admixture services to pediatric patients;
- Performing medication use evaluation programs;
- Reporting adverse drug reactions;
- Investigational drug studies;
- Providing drug information to assist physicians, nurses, and most importantly, our patients.
