Flushing Hospital’s Department of Psychiatry provides services to patients with psychiatric disorders, as well as offers a variety of addiction services to individuals in the Queens community. The department boasts an Inpatient Psychiatry Unit and Mental Health Clinic. Consultation-Liaison Service is also provided to all inpatient units.
The department is staffed with licensed professionals including Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers, Psychiatric Nurses, and Creative Arts Therapists, who are dedicated to providing compassionate care and treatment.
Outpatient Mental Health Clinic
Mental Health Outpatient Clinic services include diagnostic assessment, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, medication management, family counseling, and marital counseling. Services are provided for children, adolescents, and adults over 65 years old. Inpatient Psychiatric Services
Our 18-bed voluntary Inpatient Psychiatry Unit provides a safe, pleasant, and therapeutic environment for patient recovery. Services are provided for adults 18 years and older. Highly qualified and multi-disciplinary professionals make up our staff. Our modem treatment modalities include individual and group psychotherapy, marital and family counseling, medication therapy, creative art therapy, ECT when required, and planned discharges and referrals. Consultation / Liaison Service
The Department of Psychiatry provides 24-hour consultation
and liaison services on the medical, surgical, geriatric,
pediatric and obstetrical units. Referrals are made
by the attending physician and phoned in to the department
by the nursing staff.
