CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS
DEPARTMENTAL GRAND ROUNDS
The Mission of the Continuing Medical Education Department at Flushing Hospital
Medical Center is to provide educational programs to physicians that are designed to
advance the knowledge and clinical skills related to the practice of medicine in order to improve patient care. We aim to achieve the highest standard of education to deal with the rapidly evolving medical knowledge, standards of care and evidence base practice
The CME Programs of the Flushing Hospital Medical Center are intended for health care providers of all disciplines. Program formats may include lectures, journal club and interdisciplinary case conferences. CME programs are also linked to closing gaps identified in the hospital’s CQI process addressing quality indicators.
The CME Committee will insure that planned programs cover subject areas in the breadth and depth appropriate for the intended audiences, and that they are planned, administered and evaluated in terms of relevant educational objectives.
Improvements to FHMC’s CME Program shall be made by evaluation of CME activities and self-assessment of the overall program. FHMC expects performance parameters within the setting of clinical practice to show improvement or a favorable impact on targeted patient outcomes.
Flushing Hospital Medical Center’s continuing medical education goals are fundamental and highly valued building block of its mission to serve our patients and our community
All courses are 1 hour in duration and offer 1 CME credit. All courses are free and open to all. No registration is required.
