Consultation / Liaison Service
The Department of Psychiatry provides 24-hour consultation
and liaison services on the medical, surgical, geriatric,
pediatric and obstetrical units. Referrals are made
by the attending physician and phoned in to the department
by the nursing staff.
Inpatient Psychiatry Services
This is an 18-bed unit that provides psychiatric services
by a staff of caring professionals which include psychiatrists,
psychologists, social workers, creative arts therapists,
and nurses. Admission is voluntary and patients are
admitted seven days a week. For further information,

Inpatient Chemical Dependency Unit
(CDU)
This unit offers treatment for the safe withdrawal from
alcohol and other drugs. Detoxification services are
provided by a dedicated and caring professional staff,
including physicians, physicians' assistants, specially
trained nurses and attendants, credentialed alcoholism
and substance abuse counselors, creative arts therapists,
social workers and psychiatric consultants. Admission
is voluntary, following intake screening. Patients are
admitted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Discharge
plans are based on the individual needs of the patient.

Outpatient Mental Health
Clinic
The FHMC Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, located on
the third floor of the Medical Science and Administration
Building, provides outpatient treatment including psychiatric
evaluation, individual therapy, group psychotherapy,
medication management, psychological testing of adults
and children from age five. The clinic is open Monday,
Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and
Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Most
private insurances, Medicare and Medicaid are accepted,
and there is a sliding fee scale for self-pay. For
